Mushroom Soup

is a short game made for the ZX Spectrum 128

 Story:

A little goblin lives alone in a tree in a faraway forest.

They are very hungry and want to make mushroom soup. Their favourite.

Unfortunately, mushrooms only grow deep in the nearby caves filled with all manner of nasties and baddies. The entrance being a hole in the ground.

Cautiously the little goblin jumps down the hole with dreams of soup guiding their path.

Gameplay:

Guide the goblin through 10 levels, collecting all of the mushrooms to open the exit door.

Being so small and with such a heavy mushroom basket, the little goblin can't jump and so must rely on timing, hiding and crouching to avoid hazards.

I made this mostly as a learning exercise.

I certainly learnt a lot and will apply the knowledge gained to future games going forward.
